The Slough Jets can confirm that Jacob Soper will not be returning to the club for the 2026/27 season.
After joining the Junior Jets ten years ago, Jacob has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the club, establishing himself as an integral part of the senior team. Throughout his time in Slough, he has represented the Jets with pride, dedication and commitment, becoming a familiar face both on and off the ice.
With Jacob set to begin a degree at Oxford University, he has made the difficult decision not to re-sign with the Jets for the 2026/27 season.
Speaking following the announcement, Jacob said:
“It’s been 10 years since I joined the Junior Jets, and I’ve been privileged to play over 200 games and win eight trophies with the Jets since. It’s been an incredible ride over the past decade, and I’ll deeply miss the Jets family.
It was a really tough decision not to re-sign, but as I’ll be starting a degree at Oxford University, I thought now was the right time to step back.
Thank you to the fans, my teammates, and especially Lukas, for everything you’ve done for me over the years. I’ll forever be grateful for the support you’ve all shown me, from my first game to my last.
I hope the Jets can continue the success we’ve enjoyed together, and hopefully I’ll see you all back at the Hangar soon!”
