The Slough Jets are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman John Beldecos from the Chelmsford Chieftains ahead of the 2026/27 season!
After spending a season in the United States with the Chicago Crush before returning to England with the Chelmsford Chieftains, John now arrives in Slough at just 20 years old. The Athens-born defenceman brings a physical style of play, an excellent work ethic and plenty of potential as the Jets continue to strengthen their roster for the new campaign.
Welcoming John to the club, Head Coach Lukas Smital said…
“John is a player who will bring a real edge to our defence. He’s difficult to play against, competes hard every shift and has the kind of attitude you want in your team.
As soon as we spoke, it was clear he’d be a great fit for our group. I’m really pleased to welcome him to the club, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he brings to the team this season.”
Speaking after signing with the Jets, John said…
“I’m delighted to sign with the Jets and can’t wait to get on the ice. After watching the team play last season, it was clear this was the type of hockey I wanted to be a part of. I really liked the team’s style of play, the work ethic, and the culture that’s been built. You could see how hard everyone competed for each other, and that’s exactly the kind of environment I want to be in. I’m looking forward to meeting the fans, getting to know the boys, and doing everything I can to help the team achieve its goals this season.”
Welcome to the Jets, John!
